Hi...I'm taking my Mom to Paris for her 60th, and she wanted my daughter to come too. I think this will be great (I lived in Paris for a year as a teen). We even get to stay at a friend's studio for free! I am looking for suggestions/tips for fun things to do with my daughter. Of course I'll take her to some of the "main events" such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Rodin, Versailles, etc. I even here the science museum there is great fun. There might even be time to take a bullet train for an overnight somewhere else (Mont St. Michel, Marseilles, Aix en Provence??? suggestions?) But I don't want to, and can't really, overdo with her in tow. There is so much a kid can take. How about places to eat? It has been a long time since I lived there, and 7 years since I last visited--and that was, of course, pre-kids. Oh, and by the way, I'm NOT doing the Euro Disney thing. The siblings would be very jealous! Thanks in advance! |

We just got back from a great trip to the South of France with our 3 year old. We had lots of fun visiting museums, seeing the sights and just exploring the old towns. We found that virtually every town had an outdoor merry-go-round, as well as some nice playgrounds, which helped alot for a break during the day. We also found some great ice cream/gelato places. Nice was really great. We spent a short time in Aix, but it seemed cute. Although from Paris, it would be easier taking the Eurostar to London (3 hour train ride). The South of France is at least 4+ hours. |
