Well, between my family and my husband's family, we've decided to have Thanksgiving somewhere in Westchester (because it is perfectly equidistant from all our locations here, LI, CT and the city).

We're looking for a nice, homey place where we can have turkey and all the fixings. We neither need nor want haute cuisine or anything particularly novel or creative. Just the usual, in a family friendly setting. While a bar off to the side with the football game would be lovely for some of the sports nuts in our party, it's not mandatory.

Thanks in advance for any reco's, for food as well as lodging (again, family friendly).

Mel

Look into Doral Arrowwood. They do a Thanksgiving special weekend - the food is good, they have large tables in the main dining room and also private rooms for family groups; the guest rooms are really nice, and there's a gym and a swimming pool, which kids love. Not inexpensive, but a great place to have a family Thanksgiving.

I don't know if they do Thanksgiving, but I'd recommend Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua. The food is excellent, there's a glorious antique bar with many good beers on tap, and they have a limited number of rooms. We had our wedding there and try to return as often as possible.

Arrowwood is lovely too; a little more central but not as intimate.
