A Bahn Mi baby! And if I can't have that, give me a chicken cutlet with fresh moz and drizzled with lots of balsamic vinegar from Cafe Italia in Down Neck.

I make a pretty good french dip. I can put it on french bread, but I prefer it on rye. |

Fresh oven-roasted turkey, cole slaw, ripe tomato, Russian dressing, thin slice of pickle on good whole wheat roll. (option: add tamarind sauce instead of Russian, with a thin slice of baby Swiss). Or, the post-Turkey day classic: Leftover turkey, cranberry sauce, dressing, gravy on any type of bread or roll. Coming soon, oh yes, coming soon! |

When I lived in Cobble Hill there was a deli nearby that made that turkey sandwich you describe (with the stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc.) and they had it EVERY DAY. It was so effing good it would make you cry. I also really really like the Tinga Wrap. Es muy delicioso. |

Mmmmm...Thanksgiving on a roll was one of my all-time favorite sandwiches, too. I used to order that all the time at Chat & Chew. Another good one is smoked trout, avocado and mango on whole wheat. I think it had a little mayo and some frisee. They used to serve that at T Salon a long time ago. Always yummy. And there's a sandwich at wichcraft I'm dying to try. It's spanish white anchovies with a soft-boiled egg on it. Sounds really good, but messy to eat. But I like anchovies, so I guess I'm weird that way. |

The Spanglish (from Thomas Keller of the French Laundry) Here’s what you’ll need: 3-4 slices of bacon 2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese 2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (pain de campagne) 1 tbsp of mayo 4 tomato slices 2 leaves of butter lettuce (yes, it’s called butter lettuce) 1 teaspoon butter 1 egg Preparation: Cook the bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels Place slices of cheese on one side of toasted bread. Place in toaster oven or under broiler to melt. Spread mayo on other slice of bread top with bacon, sliced tomato, and lettuce On non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Fry egg, turning over briefly when the bottom is set (keep yolk runny) Slide finished egg on top of lettuce, top with other slice of bread (cheese-side down genius) Place sandwich on plate and slice in half, letting yolk run down sandwich calories: 1200 |

"Very Sharp Cheddar cheese Raw onion, sliced very thin Strong grainy mustard Garlicky Dill Pickle, sliced thin (Tomato) (optional) on grainy whole wheat bread" I eat a sandwich maybe once a month, but this one got me - so I made one, without the pickle. I had to get the xtra sharp cheddar, strong grainy mustard and 12 grain bread from Kings first. It was awesome. Thanks CLK. |

You're very welcome, mem. :-) This sandwich came to me in a kind of blinding flash one day and I HAD TO HAVE ONE right away. It has stuck with me - I get a craving for one every now and again and the craving usually doesn't go away until I've eaten one once a day for four or five days in a row. Sometimes, a few Triscuits with a slice of sharp cheddar and a slice of pickle will kill the craving, but not always. |

My father made this for us on Sunday mornings: Bagel butter on one side cream cheese on the other cucumber green pepper tomato optional onion Put it together. It's tall, so it's sloppy eating, especially when you're a kid with a small mouth.
