Anyplace around here do a nice one - it can't be a diner as we are celebrating 2 birthdays. All suggestions appreciated.

If you like Chinese food, try the China Gourmet for dim sum brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

I think most brunches are on Sundays. Short Hills Hilton, Grand Summit Hotel and Winberie's in Summit all have a nice Sunday brunch. I've heard Verjus is nice as well.

A bit far, but The Original Pancake House in Caldwell on corner of Bloomfield & Passaic Aves or Whippany on rt 10 East. You can't go wrong there any day of the week. Not ultra fancy like Hilton, regular (not buffet) style but mmm mmm good. Try the cinn almond french toast!

Short Hills Hilton brunch is pretty hard to beat, but it's also about $40 a person. That may not be what you had in mind.

I don't see Saturday brunches too often. I have to say the Pancake House is a best bet for the money.
My family loves to go to Scotties in Millburn. They have a GREAT Champagne brunch but it's on Sunday!! Mmmmmmm..... Mimosas!

...Oh! Houlihans in Livingston or The Office in Montclair might be able to do a brunch for you on Saturday. I've frequented both placed for Saturday "lunches" and celebrations and both were quite enjoyable.
