After reading CLK's description of the ultimate sandwich, it sounded so good I ended up having one.

Can you describe something really good to eat so well that it inspires any of us to have to go try it? (Cato not allowed here)

I can't put my finger on why the site that buzzsaw cites is so funny to me.

Boston, raw rainy day. Just walked a couple of blocks along the wharfs to the aquarium. Getting chilled to the bone. Look to our left ... there it is. Legal seafood.

Ten minutes later on our table are two hot bowls of delicious New England clam chowder. Nice and creamy but not sickeningly thick. Tender clams and great crunchy oyster crackers on the side.

Well gosh, now my favorite sandwich is famous. :-)

(and here's a hint: a nice brown ale goes really well with it .... )

Made yummy whole wheat pasta (see separate thread) with white clam sauce, fresh cockles and littlenecks, beaucoup garlic, flat parsley, vermouth and diced red and yellow grape tomatos and other cool stuff (PL if intrigued) and...boy was it good....!

Eat well, all.

David
