Anyone have a recipe? I know that some people on here cook Indian food. Chicken Dhingri is probably my favorite dish and I'd love to try making it at home, but I can't find a recipe on the internet anywhere. Any suggestions always appreciated. |

could you just add chicken to this? also, if you want to cook Indian food @ home this place is amazing: http://www.kalustyans.com/ Ingredients 1 tea cup peas 200 gms fresh mushrooms 1 onion chopped 1 tomato chopped 1/2 tsp garam masala powder 1 tea cup curds 4 tablespoon oil 1 tsp salt 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste grind together: 2 tbsp poppy seeds 2 tsp cashewnuts Method: Heat oil and fry untill brown,add ginger garlic paste,tomato and cook untill soft Add garam masala powder cashewnut and poppy seed paste Cook untill it leave the sides Add peas and mushroom and curds and cook for 5 min. Serve hot with roti or naan

Great website and thanks for the recipe - It seems pretty close to what I imagine is in dhingri, so I will definitely try it. I'll be attempting to make my own naan this week. It seems simple enough, hopefully it will come out alright. |

I can recommend Madhur Jaffrey's cook books. I noticed that a couple of her cook books are listed on the link above. She is an Indian actress, who trained in London and I believe raised her daughters in NYC. She is good with substitutions, explains the different spices and talks about her memories growing up in India. My only over all complaint were the recipes were heavy on oil. So I cut back. It's been a while--but I think by more than half. |
