My wife and I went to Ariyoshi. I liked it a lot. My wife thought it was OK. Not sure why the difference. One nice thing we agreed on is the quiet mood there, compared with Samurai Sushi in Maplewood.

Also, the waiter asked at every table, "Do you need ice cream for dessert?"

We went on Monday night and really enjoyed the food. We ordered a special kind of spicy crunchy tuna roll, and it was amazing. I was put off, however, that when I ordered the vegetable maki combo, and asked for a equally-priced roll in place of the avocado roll, I was told the substitution would cost me and extra dollar. I ordered it anyway, but it bugged me. I do still like Sakana a lot too. We'll probably alternate between the two.

Anybody else notice their booths are tiny? I'm not a petite thing, so I was not surprised that I wasn't comfortable in it, but when a set of average-sized guests tried to sit at one and had the same problem, I thought, wow, those must be made for tiny people!

We went last Monday and shared sushi/sashimi for 2. It was really good. The kids ate well and were happy too.
We actually decided to have the fried ice cream. We all shared 2, green tea and vanilla. Oh my god. It was heavenly. I just wish they'd offer the vanilla with a bit of chocolate syrup. Mmm.
It ends up being a bit expensive for all of us to indulge the way we did last week, but we will certainly continue to go there as often as we can.
We sit in the tatami room, the small one fits the 5 of us.
