Ok, without going into Manhattan .... We've booked the babysitter, the girls have bought new outfits ......

Now where can we get a lively/trendy atmosphere - dinner and drinks - and not look stupidly overdressed on a Saturday night?

Thanks

How about that newish place in Montclair...Charlie something or other? I remember last winter a few people posted about it. Seemed cool, really loungy, hip, big band music, looked like something out of Casablanca.
Or Voro?

You're thinking of Cecere's. Many weekend's you can hear my favorite trombone player there!

But, if you're going out this weekend, don't have to stray far. This is Maplewood's fabulous Jazz Weekend. Last night, the Jazz Crawl and swingdance at the Burgdorff, tonight Luciana Souza at the Burgdorff and more...

Voro was fully booked so we'll have to try there another time. We went to Martini in Millburn. Bar had a good atmosphere, great cosmopolitans, food in the restaurant was good, sat in a booth, service was attentive. We had a great night.
