My husband and I recently had a baby (now 7 months) and we are trying to come up with a gift idea for a client of mine. I've become good friends with my client over the past 2 years. He and his wife have a son a year older than ours so they have given us all of the clothes their son grows out of (very nice stuff!) We never have to buy our baby new clothes, it's great and saves us lots of money! I'd really like to send them out to dinner or do something really nice for them as a thank you. They live in Cranford. I know they like Italian food. I'd like to find them something somewhat local (no NYC or Hoboken). Any ideas?!

If you want to send them to a fine restaurant try Scalini Fedeli in Chatham. They have a liquor license.
Antonella in South Orange is great and it is a BYO. You can give them the certificate with a bottle or two!

If youre looking for something closer to home for them, there was an amazing review of a restaurant in Rahway this past weekend in the Sunday Times NJ Section..Restaurant David Drake. Id love to try it. Also closer to Cranford, in Kenilworth, Les Rendezvous.

Garlic Rose is in Cranford
Also, try Novita in Westfield - EXCELLENT food.
(I personally thought Garlic Rose was mediocre, but a lot of people like it)
