Any recommendations for a quiet, comfortable place to stay in Boston over the Xmas holiday? Two adults and one kid...
Thanks.

Longwharf Marriott is not exactly quiet, but it is centrally located, near the aquarium, not far from Quincy Market, and has aged well over its years of operation. Plenty of activities nearby for children and their accompanying adults.

The Westin Copley Place (Back Bay) is a great hotel. I have stayed their several times.....you won't be disappointed.

We usually stay at the Cambridge Marriott. The subway stop is right there off their plaza. Harvard Square is 2 stops west and getting into Boston proper is easy. Stayed there this March, asked for a room with a view, and was put on the top (15th?) floor - fantastic. They also have an indoor pool and attached parking garage.

Those are all good places to stay in Boston. However having traveled to Boston many times we have found if you're driving it's a lot cheaper to stay in one of the towns near Boston like Waltham or Newton. The Doubletree Suites in Waltham is good for a family. It's only a fifteen minute drive to the city and you don't have to pay exorbitant hotel parking charges.

The Colonnade Hotel is having a special right now called the Kids See and Do. There are two adjoining rooms, passes to either the aquarium or the children's museum starting at $215.00
