Randazzo's: great for kids. It's over on a side street parallel to Springfield. You may need to Google it for the exact address. But to get ther from the Conection, come out of the Connection parking lot, turn right, go along and turn left -- I think at a church or something -- to head toward downtown. That will put you in the vicinity. Wish I could be more precise with street names.

Wow, you're fast. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out.

BTW, check the "Holiday Party" thread for my post to you.

Try Brick Oven Pizza, right across from the train station, or Monster Sushi on Springfield Avenue.

Also Broadway Grill works for kids. Corner of Springfield and Summit.

Hank, where is the new VT in Summit?

of course there is the summit diner - the greasy spoon that I can't resist.

Marco Polo is kid friendly. We've gone there with kids and it was fine.

Thanks Hank.

We love Marco Polo (something about that sauce) but be aware it is also a bar and pretty smokey.

"The Office" (right down from Starbucks across from the train station on the town side) is great for kids...they give them celery sticks and carrots while you are waiting for the food!

O.K. when you guys say "kids" what age are you talking about? Mine are 2,5 and 7. I checked the office website, and it looks good (is it the same as The Office in Morristown), but I didn't see any kind of kids menu.

Cafe Mavi is within walking distance (8 minutes with easily distracted preschoolers) of The Connection. It's on the corner of Maple and the road that leads to the train station. Turkish-style American, is how I'd describe it. Kids' menu. Great coffee.

The Office is the same as Motown.

My kids are 2 & 4 and we take them there as well as the Broadway Grill.

I haven't been to Monster in Summit, but I doubt it could be classified as cheap.

another vote for the Broadway grill. Kids menu comes with a drink AND dessert. Plus they have crayons and coloring books. My kids love it ( 2 and 4) though we haven't been for a while as we totally ODd on it last winter. Monster sushi also has a kids menu and is very kid friendly. The kids menu at least was reasonably priced.

I can't remember the name exactly, but it's something like Beacon Hill around the corner from the Office. It's got a smoky bar, but it is separated by doors from a kid friendly restaurant. Pub food
