Anybody been to Turks & Caicos? My wife and I will be going with our 2.5 & 1 year old and I'll be diving. If anyone has any advice from experience, it would be appreciated.

The water is beautiful and very shallow. Great for kids. The restaurants on the Island are very expensive if you plan on eating out bring lots of money burger $10-$20.00.

My husband and I went there back in 2001. We stayed at Point Grace resort. (www.pointgrace.com)
It was absolutely awesome ! They have one of the best restaurants on the island and we were lucky enough to get a package where 3 dinners were included in the price of the stay. (it was off-season). Point Grace has a spa and sports club and wonderful facilities and a beach to die for. The accomodations are condos/villas. Next to Point Grace was Sandals/ Beaches Resort (and that catered more to kids/families). We were kidless at the time. Even if you stay at Beaches, i would reccomend getting out for one night w.o the kids and go to the restaurant at Point Grace. It is likely eating at a five star restaurant...but outside under the stars near the beach. Best chillean sea bass I ever had !! In fact, we tried a couple other restaurants on the island and found them over-priced and disappointing (now that I'm remembering). Excellent snorkeling too. Go !!! and ENJOY !!!

I went there with my ex-husband (well, we were married at the time) and my two kids back in 2002. It was great. The island is not too developed, and there are areas to explore and just drive around. We found that you could just walk down random beaches and do fabulous snorkeling right off shore (in fact, we saw a barracuda). We stayed at the Beaches resort --- expensive but great for kids. Enjoy.

The best diving in Turks and Caicos is at the wall off Grand Turk. It's an abyss. Unfortunately, there's not much else to do on Grand Turk except ride scooters and look at donkeys. The resort diving at the Club Med in Providinciales was good, too. Have fun!
