I know this has been a topic on this board before, but we finally got around to trying Ginger Taste (on Millburn Ave). It was fantastic! Very flavorful dishes and no overbearing heavy sauces - it was just right. It was very much like what I ate when I was in China. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out! It was practically empty when we ate there last Thursday - hoping more people go there to keep them in business! They deliver to Maplewood too, and we plan on using them going forward for our take out/delivery for sure. Just wanted to drop a reminder that Ginger Taste is there and to give it a try! |

Thanks for the reminder. We will definitely try it! My son, new to Millburn, also has given it great reviews. |

Ginger Taste has become our "Thursday night I don't want to eat pizza again" kind of place. The menu offers many of the usual suspects: edamame, potstickers, sesame chicken, pad thai, red and green curry dishes... think of it as pan-Asian soul food. Don't go for the decor, it was an IHOP in a previous life, go for the good food and reasonable prices. |

We order delivery from Ginger Taste quite often now. The dishes with the word ginger in them are particularly good. Not crazy about their Pad Thai, and the Sambal Delight (I think it was). |

I really like it, and agree about their sauces and even the asortment of mixed veggies in each dish is a nice accompaniment to the sauce, not the usual onion, celery, bok choy water chestnut flavorless combo often found in other places. Unfortunately they don't have my kids' fave, shrimp toast, and their egg drop is different than the usual which doesn't work for my picky eaters. When we eat Chinese, that's what they like. |

We've eaten there a couple of times in the past few weeks, and business appears to be picking up. I'm especially fond of their wok glazed ginger dishes - I think I've tried all but the scallops. |

Love the Wok glazed ginger and chicken. The Four Seasons is also one of my favorites. Their dumplings are also good -- not as doughy as most around here. At most places, the dumplings are 90% dough that makes your stomach feel like you ate a bunch of rocks... |

Please stop talking about Ginger Taste, we can't get a table on Friday evenings anymore..... They are short handed when they are close to full not to mention the booming take-out orders they have. |

Yikes eliz - that's a long time. They usually take about 45-60 minutes (after estimating 45 for us). We ordered the other night and it came in about 40 minutes (after estimating 30). I think it's hit or miss with GT, but 1h 45m is a long time. |

The last two deliveries took about 1.5 hours for us. We like it, but are hesitant to order. |

I always drive over and pick up. The food is ready within 10 minutes everytime. Much better then waiting 45 minutes plus. |

We've been loyal customers for a while and it's never taken that long. When I first called to order they said they were really busy and it would take 45 minutes - fine. 1 hour later I called and something mumbled about a broken down car and another 15 minutes... Food was cold on arrival but with a hungry kid I decided not to refuse it. We pick up as well when we can time with hubby coming off the train but one of the great things is that it's one of the few places with good food that delivers.... I hope this is temporary growing pain! |

Yowch! Called in an order tonight at 7:30 PM. They told me 25 minutes--I gave them 35, knowing it was Sat night. We did not get our food until 8:45!!! And they were not that busy in the restaurant when we got there, and there were only three pickups at that time. They were totally disorganized, the three waitresses were running in circles, and nothing seemed to be getting done. This is the second time that I have had to wait an inordinatly long time for a pick-up order. If they had told me they were busy and it would take over an hour, fine, I could have chosen to order or gone somewhere else. But I felt like I was directly lied to--they all but admitted it when I asked them later at the restaurant. I am done with Ginger Taste--the food is okay, but I have no patience for sitting there waiting like that. Phooey! Too many other deserving places to spend my limited food dollars. |

Eats, I'm guessing you saw my husband there waiting as well. I couldn't believe it took him so long and he didn't even come home with dessert!

I walked in Friday night to order...didnt have a menu. There were four tables filled with no more than four people per table...phone wasnt ringing off the hook. I placed an order (two apps and a main course), was told ten minutes. It became more like 25...fortunately I was able to bother a family there I knew for awhile. The food was very good, but they were literally running around the restaurant and I was told, even though I didnt once ask, that my order would be ready in five minutes every five minutes, with a different reason every time ("your order is being wrapped" reason actually came before the "your summer rolls are being wrapped" reason). They do need to get their workflow issues straightened out. |

On Saturday night, I ordered it to pick up, thinking it would be faster. I waited for 30 minutes in the restaurant while they accidentally delivered someone else's food to my house. |

Did they change hands or something? They have always been quick and reliable in our experience until the last few weeks. Hope they can get their act together. |
