I'm going to keep this short.

We went there when they first opened and gave a pretty good review. We went back a few times and were turned away because of planned parties.

This time the wait for takeout was pretty long. I'm vegetarian, the three sides were all fairly mediocre. The Mac and Cheese was actually gross with soggy pasta and glops of uncooked cheese and a bad flavor overall. The yams were so sweet they were hard to eat. And the corn was just not flavored in a way that appealed to me. The cornbread was just ok (I didn't sense they were sweet potato at all).

My wife got the pork ribs and the portion was paltry, just two ribs. And she complained the whole meal that it was fatty and lacking any real meat.

I was left hungry after my meal, and threw away most of the portion. Yuck.

we also had a mediocre take out experience about a month ago.
the owners are very nice, it seems.
I'll try it again, but won't rush.

Sorry to hear it. We've had three excellent meals in the restaurant (the last recently, during a major private party), and plan to return.

Never tried the take-out though, so dont' know if it differs.

We've had good takeout experiences there too, though sometimes the food's not been ready when they tell us, so we've had to wait when we've gone to pick up. FYI, the sweet potato cornbread is special. You have to order it separately. The cornbread that comes with a takeout order is just regular cornbread.

I've eaten there a few times, and it's always been delicious! ALWAYS!
Please stop in and let Niecy know that you were dissatisfied. I'm sure she'd want to know!

Went to Niecy's about 2 weeks ago. The ribs were so sweet as to be almost inedible .. my daughter, who is the Queen of Ribs, only finished half before declaring that she was "full" ... first time that has happened. The yams were also too sweet.

I have been to Niecy's twice before, and was satisfied. Maybe she was havinfg an off-night, or maybe they had a different chef that night.

Ate there again last night, and enjoyed it very much. Beef short ribs, BBQ salmon, and a range of yummy sides.

The yams are definitely sweet -- but too sweet is a matter of interpretation!
