You all are clearly products of a whole-language curriculum.

If you're making Eggs Benedict for a crowd, you can make poaching the eggs a little easier by taking pieces of foil and forming them around the base of a coffee cup. Then, melt some butter into each, and float them on the boiling water. You can crack the eggs right into them, and when done they should slide right out onto the english muffins.

And please, do try and make your own hollandaise, not that awful stuff from the mix.

Speaking of fry guys and Grimmace, I always liked that old Crest commercial where the guys in orange jumpsuits run around in a big mouth attacking all of the tartar, except that toothpaste was not yet sold in the tartar-control variety, because pretty much all toothpaste was the same. Now, we have tartar-control toothpaste, peroxide-whitening toothpaste, sparkle-gel and various colors and widths of stripes in toothpaste. But looking back at that Crest commercial with the men in orange jumpsuits ... that's how to get kids excited about brushing their teeth.

"Well, I believe in the soul. [anatomical descriptive deleted]. The small of a woman's back. The hanging curveball. High fiber. Good scotch. That the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a Constitution Amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve. And I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days...Goodnight"

But the most important this is that you have your shoes tied. That is what I tried to teach them.

Vacationing in Littleton, North Carolina. Can't get a newspaper before 4:00 PM. Thank gawd my father-in-law has The Dish. 57 Channels ... Can't get any "Eye-tal-ian" food worth eating. Went to "Pino Pizza" the other night. It's "only" 45 minutes from here ... In VIRGINIA! I don't think there was any garlic in the whole damn place. We ordered red wine. They gave us frosted (iced) Christmas coffee mugs to drink the wine (I'm not kidding) ... Went to the Food Lion tonight (Ran out of beer). Gotta go ...

Yes, each night's concert has its own T-Shirt, with "1" on the back for the first night, "2" for the second, etc.

The correct answer is none. Phone booths aren't water tight.

I really can't think of a good reason to be happy about Monday. It's humid and Monday.

Well, there are still some free boxes around I think. That's good.

Joan, you never said anything about the goldfish being alive. With the blender on puree, I bet I could get a couple of thousand in - if one could find a real phone booth these days.
