Anthony Garubo's is the best and has the most comfortable surroundings.

Georgette Klinger at the Short Hills Mall - request "Christine". She's fantastic, a perfectionist with eyebrows.(she's also on the TV show "Starting Over" so there's always something to chat about if you're a fan!)

Legs (ahem, etc...) don't require as much finesse, so Garubo's is fine. I like "Choon"

I don't trust Kim's, they don't seem clean enough. Also once they pulled the wax strips off at the wrong speed which made my legs blotchy for a week.

Don't go to Choon! She is horrible. Stay away!!!

OK- that's really mean. The truth is that Chooh is so fantastic that she now has a huge following. It takes a month to get an appointment. I figure if people still think we're gonna find WMD, then they'll believe that Choon is a nightmare.

Kuniko is also very good at Garubos. She, too, has a great following.

I like the Chelsea Set, better than Garubo's, and the people are more fun.

I recently moved to South Orange and I LOVE to swim. There is a great outdoors public pool in town but I would like to be able to swim all year long. I was wondering if anyone knew of a YMCA or YMHA that has a lap pool and other exercise facilities and/or classes (without a pricey membership that will not "break the bank").

Any suggestions and first hand experience would be well appreciated!

By the way, I have found that the local S.O. YMCA is small and it seems they mainly cater to children's activities & daycare.

I have been going to Kims for the past few years and have no complaints, they are very friendly efficent and reasonably priced. Anthony Garubo's is very overpriced for the service provided IMHO

What about Jane in Millburn? I've heard they are a nice place to go.

I am interested in manicures and pedicures? Would you all recommend Garubo and Chelsea for those types of servies?

Regarding Kim's, I walked in one day and it was way too packed and did not look clean enough for me so I left. I am willing to pay extra for an immaculate salon. I may have been to quick to judge but it did not look clean at first glance.

Thanks for your comments and have happy holiday!

Jane's is nice for manicure/pedicure. I had my eyebrows done there once but wasn't totally thrilled, only because of the shaping, not cleanliness or anything.

Re: Kim's

Got one pedicure there. One big toe nail then turned a lovely shade of greenish black. Took a long time to grow out. Can you say, fungus infection, boys and girls?

Will NEVER go back.

Has anyone tried the new nail place in the center yet? I've never had a fungi problem at Kims, but IMO they use inferior products - while pricey, a Garubo manicure lasts nearly 2 weeks - I'm lucky if Kim's lasts 2 days! Anyway, the new place is offering a free manicure with a purchased pedicure... anyone tried them?
