Has anyone tried that new Eastern European (something Bazaar) on Northfield in the old Casa Nostro building? It looked pretty crowded when I drove by, but I'd like to know what they serve.

It seemed to get a good review in the Ledger on Friday 12/26 (The Weekend Section - "Eat With Pete")... They apparently serve a varied menu , not just Eastern European cuisine.

We went to that new place, Slavinskyi (sp?) Bazaar, tonight.
2 of us, each with an appetizer and entree (no beverages or dessert) came to $71.00. The live entertainment was a bit loud, but perhaps that's because we were the only regular diners - there were several people at the bar, and a party of about 20-25 in a separate room. The food was pretty good, but the service was just okay. The waiter never asked about drinks, and was apparently playing video games at the bar during most of the meal. Waitress was pretty good about keeping water glass filled. Also, smoking vs non-smoking did not seem to be an option. Not sure if it is not available, or the hostess forgot to ask, as we were pretty much the only ones there, the bar smoke wasn't too bad.

Will try this place again in a few months to see if the kinks have been worked out.

FWIW, I had the cold antipasta appetizer, and my SO had Russian blinis. Entrees were Beef stroganoff (in a bread bowl), the rice side dish was pretty good), and a lamb chops type dish, cra--alach (can't remember the name).
