"He lost the crucial last and deciding game of the World Series last year. He doesn't deserve to be a Yank!! Goodbye to the bum!"

George "The Boss" Steinbruner

Kidding aside, I don't think George was ever a fan. Didn't he threaten to trade him several times in the past after he had a bad outing?

Stienbrenner always waits until the last minute to sign his players. I think that Pettite just got frustrated and decided to play closer to where he lives. What are the Yankees going to do for pitching next year? Clemens is retired, Pettite is gone and Wells has a bad back. I think that Boston has a good chance of beating the Yanks next season.

hopefully pettite doesn't mind a 5+ era pitching in that small park in houston.

it's just a matter of time before steinbrenner erupts and vladimir guerrero and kevin brown become yankees

The Yankees really botched this one. Cashman said on the fan today that Pettite's people had asked for four-years $52M, but the Yanks wouldn't bite. Colon got 4/$51 from the Angels and Pettite is better and a proven NYC quantity ... No, the Yanks screwed up. Let them get Keving Brown and Sheffield ... It's going to be a long summer in the Bronx ...

I heard the Toronto GM interviewed about how he's revamping the Blue Jays. He has to trim his budget to $50 million. Different ballgame for him, huh?
