Can anyone recommend someone to install (for a reasonable price) an over-the-range microwave? There is one installed in that space now, but it's broken and needs to be replaced. Thanks.

Its not that tough to do if you have a helper. I've done it twice. The units themselves are not super heavy, but bulky.

The directions inside (at least for GE) comes with a good template & instructions.

Once you have the mounting brackets installed on the wall and have supports on the cabinet above -- you carefully hang the unit in place, then finish with bolts from above.

IF you look at the cabinet above the current unit -- you'll probably see bolts. Once loosened, it'll just be hanging.

good luck -- Pete

Thanks, Pete. However, given my work schedule over the next week, coupled with all the other *&^%^*&*(# I have to do around the house and the fact that I am generally incompetent when it comes to home repairs (unless the task involves breaking things), I think I would be better off relying on a professional (or at least someone less incompetent than me) for this one.

bandw: If you buy your new microwave from Karl's (assuming you haven't yet purchased one), I'm pretty sure they would install it and their price is pretty reasonable.
