Back by popular demand, the Durand-Hedden Open House scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 14, has been postponed to Sunday, December 21. The Open House, which will take place from 1-4, will feature a vintage postcard exhibit that offers the chance to see what our town looked like early in the 20th Century. On display will be John Harvey’s popular vintage postcard collection, which forms the basis of a newly published Arcadia book on Maplewood in pictures. There will also be a display of beautiful turn-of-the century holiday postcards. Don't forget to drop by the Country Store for your last-minute holiday shopping. There will be holiday cards with pen-and-ink drawings by Cyrus Durand Chapman and Durand-Hedden postcards, along with popular gift items such as handmade redware pottery, tinware, hurricane lamps and lovely holiday decorations.
