We have to pass on a recommendation for amazing work done in our home by Richard O'Connor. We needed to have lighting and electrical work done (outside lighting and an electrical outlet installed outdoors). His work was expediant, perfect in every way and very reasonable. We have already started to talk to him about other work we are going to need to be done in the house and his skillset has really impressed us (truly a jack of all trades)....

Thank you Richard !!!!! We will definitely be working with you again.

Privateline Richard (Richard O'Connor) or me for his contact info.

I have to second this opinion - he did a small job for me, and did it on time, neatly, faster than promised, and at the rate he named when first we spoke. Excellent all around.

Thanks,

Contact him (privateline him through the board "Richard O'Connor") and ask him what it is you need done. He has an amazing skillset way beyond electrical... just ask and he will tell you if he can do it.

Happy Holidays

Richard is a good friend of mine...in fact, I am the one who moved him into my home when the tree fell on his house. Needless to say, he has done dozens of projects around my house. His skills are in no way limited to electrical. To name a few, he has completed for me...two toilet and sink installs, new kitchen counters, disposal and kitchen sink, new laundry slop sink, storm door, outside lighting, ice maker, installed dish washer, installed gas range, etc, etc. It certainly is good to have a close friend with these talents when you own a 70 year old home.

Private line him and he will get back to you, though I would suspect he will not get back to you until after the Christmas holiday.

On New Year's day I wash installing a dishwasher and cracked my shutoff valve pipe in the basement. Water jetting everywhere I fould Richard's info here and called. HE ANSWERED. In 30 minutes he was over with tools and parts. A little later my pipes were fixed/replaced and the dishwasher properly installed. A wildly reasonable price. A GREAT JOB. Can't say enough good things about the experience. The PLUMBERs would have had me over the barrel if they could have been found. Happy New Year!

Even though I do not know the man...

A few weeks ago, Richard put a message on on MOL stating that he was a recently displaced IT director. I emailed him some encouragement about the market starting to open up again for IT workers here.

Now, with all of the recommendations from MOL users, I guess that Richard will not have to go back to the world of IT. A second skillset is good to have when you have been displaced out of your primary profession, and showing proficiency and fairness in that second skill will only be to your benefit.

Doing a good job for your neighbors and hearing of their satisfaction can be much more rewarding than what you get out of corporate life. I know that when I do computer installations and troubleshooting around Millburn and Maplewood, I thrive on the satisfaction of the people that I am doing work for.

Now that I know about Richard, I do not think I will hesistate to call on an old IT-er for some work around the house when the need arises.
