I'm looking for the stuff you use to print photos off the computer and had no luck finding it in downtown Maplewood--anyone know any place that's not too far away? Thanks! |

Go to Costco. 100 sheets of Epson glossy 8 1/2" x 11" is $20. Last time I bought it there was even a $5 rebate. |

There is one in Union on 22 and one in East Hanover on Route 10. Specifics and directions at www.costco.com But you have to be a member. They also have it at Staples, which is also on Route 22. |

Depending on how many sheets you need, Walgreens, CVS, etc, sells the stuff in their stationery/school supplies aisle. |

There's a sale on fine photo paper at the art store in Essex Green (Jerry's outlet) Legion paper and Arches - they offered several varieties of finishes - Matte, Linen, Rag, glossy, and more that I can't recall off the top of my head. These papers usually cost about $70+ for 50 sheets and now they're half-price. I picked up a sample pack that offered around 8 different finishes - the differences in the prints are distinct. Some finishes are really "cold", others resemble watercolors and fabrics, it's really neat if you want to play with it. |

Cool, thank you all for the suggestions. Ended up going to Village Photo for the sake of convenience and it is a bit pricey. Next time I think I'll go to Cosco to stock up (ahh, can't wait to experience the joys of shopping in bulk!!) |

Ash, If you're just looking to do some snapshots, probably anything will do. But if you're looking for display pieces, the normal rule of thumb is to use paper from the same manufacturer as your printer. The papers are formulated for the manufacturers' inks. There are a few third party papers that are formulated to specific printer manufacturers' inks, but they're tough to identify. If you're going to be using a lot of paper, check out the B&H Photo, and/or Adorama web sites. TomR. Merry Christmas to all. |
