Brown v. Board: Fifty Years Later
Juan Williams at Columbia High School

Author of the critically acclaimed biography, Thurgood Marshall - American Revolutionary, and Eyes on the Prize: America's Civil Rights Years, 1954-1965, NPR Senior Correspondent Juan Williams will discuss the legacy of the Brown v. Topeka Board of Education Supreme Court decision that ended the legal separation of black and white children in public schools and sparked the 1960s civil rights movement. What does it mean today?

For more information on the Brown v. Board decision, Justice Marshall and Mr. Williams visit these sites:

It appears that the location of this event was left out of some announcement or calendar listing. Hopefully, bumping this up will help alert some of those interested in attending to the location.

Thanks.

My daughter the TV ace tells me that Mr. Williams is speaking to CHS students tomorrow but did not have time to speak twice (most CHS assemblies are done twice because only half the students can fit into the auditorium at one time). So the TV students are doing a live remote broadcast which will be shown on classroom TVs for the students who can't be in the auditorium. It is quite likely that, as with the morning announcements, this will then also air on CCN locally (Channel 19 in SO, 35 in Maplewood). I believe that it is being done 4th period (which on Thursday comes after 7th period), starting around 1:10 pm.
