The only place I've really checked out locally is Metropolitan Plant Exchange, on Rt.10 in West Orange. But I was just in IKEA (of all places) and they had huge, gorgeous areca palms for 8 bucks, and the same plant in the same size was $15 at M.P.E. Any recommendations for good prices, selection, and helpful staff? |

I've had good luck with plants from Home Depot. |

I know everyone hates Home Depot but they do guarantee their plants. I’ve killed two or three and brought them back for replacements. |

The plant woman at home depot is very knowledgeable and will direct you to the right plants for you. The plants are cheap and healthy. Hate to recommmend Home Depot, but their plants have always worked out for me. |

I like the plant dept. at the Bloomfield HomeDepot better than the one off Valley St. |

Although mostly I have a black thumb, the plants I've purchased from ikea (some are 3 years old) have thrived. |
