Memorial Park if you're heading out

From the MOL online calendar:

Fireworks kick off the evening program at 7 p.m. sharp in Maplewood Memorial Park.

They were better then July 4th. Unfortunately, we scared the beejeezus out of the Geese and Ducks (boy were they having an animated conversation after it was over).

The geese were totaly freaked (as was my 2yo, though she said she enjoyed it when it was over, the 4.5 yo loved it without reservation). Thanks to those who made it possible and Happy New Year to all

Heck, I freaked. I thought we were under attack. I went up and got the BARs and M-1s from under the attic floor boards. We were about ready to head for our prepared positions in SMR when one of the kids figured out that it was just fireworks. Sounded like Shock and Awe Part 2
:-)

The fireworks display proved more effective at getting rid of the geese than the swan which flew over from S.O. a few years back.

I haven't seen a goose by the watering hole since the fireworks went off.
