I have scoured the internet and decided that I need to see them in person before purchase - where do they sell (finished) kid's tables and chairs and toy chests in the area? Am looking for Pottery Barn type quality and look. Thanks much! |

The stuff we bought at Ikea looks good and has been pretty sturdy over the long haul. The simple, cheap pine beds purchased 8 years ago were supposed to function as a bridge from toddler to regular beds but are still going strong. If you've never been to Ikea (Elizabeth, NJ), try to go on a weekday or as early as possible on a Sat. or Sunday. By noon, the place is so croweded you can't breathe. |

I saw some nice tables and chairs at BabyLand in MIllburn. They're displayed up high above the toy shelves - around $200 for a set if I recall. BTW - BabyLand is great for a lot of kid-realted stuff. They repair strollers and sell new ones - when my youngest was in the inbtween stage of almost ready to stop the stroller, I opted to replace the worn-out wheels on my $5 Maclaren tag-sale stroller for around $100 instead of springing for an entire new stroller for $400. THe staff couldn't have been nicer and there was no pressure to buy a new one. We had an Ikea table and chairs that looked great and did the job for a few years, but it didn't hold up once we had two kids. Got all wobbley and eventually the leg just broke. |
