We are renovating our kitchen, which included a complete demo of what's in place. We also have a child on the way (nothing like doubling up on the stress). We currently have Air Filters running in three places in the house and we have forced hot air/central air conditioning. We did not cover the intakes prior to the demolition or the floor sanding and refinishing (darn it), so we have a lot of dust and once we're done with the project, we want to get the air ducts cleaned. Any idea how much this should cost? I heard a rough estimate of $10 per register. Also, any recommendations on who should do the work? Thanks |

You might try the national organization-- http://www.nadca.com/index.htm for some general info. The site is a little self-serving, but still gives you good info. Having had the good fortune of being advised to cover our ducts and returns before doing all the dirty work in our "new" house, we ended up deciding not to do the duct cleaning. We might at some point in the future, but with no small kids around, and no discernable problems to date, we're just moving that down on the list.
