Hi,

I've been taking my wifies (wifes) Accura to the dealer for repair knowing they charge more. Several days back the radiator went bad. Turns out they wanted $700 to repair it. Needless to say I went somewhere else (bumper-to-bumper in Maplewood).

My question is this... Can anyone suggest a place to take an Audi for repairs as a replacement for the dealer? Repairs like radiators where the task is well defined I'd like to stay away from the dealer.

I take my car to High Marques Motor Werks, 171 Washington St. (Route 124)Morristown, NJ, 07960.

http://www.highmarques.com

I haven't taken my wife's Audi there yet but I've taken my porsche to them to change oil, tires install new shifter etc. They are very reasonable. I think it cost me about $300 to do a milestone service (5K), which was far cheaper than Paul Miller. The guys in the service department have been working on Porsches and Audis for nearly their entire careers.

I'd call them and tell them what you want done and ask for a quote. They seem honest and fair. I have had my wife's Audi serviced at DCH and I was not impressed.

Good luck.

We go to Centeral Imports. It's at the intersection of Valley Rd and Centeral Ave in West Orange. It's small, family owned and reasonable. Thier phone number is 973-736-2797

I second Euromotive. Great mechanic. Very fair. Never overcharges. Comes right out of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

So you folks are stating that "Central Imports" and "Euromotive" here in the Maplewood area are places to check out for general repair of an Audi...

And another place is High Marques Motor Werks, 171 Washington St. (Route 124)Morristown, NJ, 07960?

Thanks to all commentors... Anyone else with suggestion?

I third Euromotive. Nick worked for the dealership next door (maybe even managed the service dept.) until the relationship deteriorated and he opened his own garage in the 80s. Extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and fair.

Nick is great but unfortunately he recently cut his hair. I don't know if this will have a detrimental effect on his mechanic abilities.
