I know I have posted this before, but I want everyone to know about Manny's. Dont let the name fool you. The food is fantastic!! They have everything, from great coffee, to full blown diners, to gyros, to hamburgers, to to huge salads and the people there are very nice.. My wife and I have brought friends and family there from all over the metro area and they love it. You wont be dissappointed.

Manny's is right accross the street from Home depot on SA.

There's also one in the middle of South Orange on SO Ave. near the corner of Vose.

When my wife and I want a good meal at a good value, we go to the Weiner on South Orange Ave. Unlike other restaurants in SO, we've never been disappointed.

I'm not sure if the 2 Weiners are affiliated (I think there is another Texas Weiner on Route 22), but both of them in the SO area are great. We prefer the Weiner to the lame-o Blue Moon Diner any day!

I wish the one in South Orange would post a menu outside, along with their hours. I've often wondered what they serve, but they're rarely open when I walk by. Or is the menu pretty much the same as the one by Home Depot? (very nice folks working there, by the way)
What do you recommend at the one in SO?

I think that the weiner place on South Orange Ave opens at 6 or 7 in the AM and closes about the same time in the PM, 7 days a week. I see them open on my way to the train, but they are usually either closed or closing up when I am headed home.

I have eaten there on numerous occasions and the food has been good (for diner type food). They staff is also very friendly.

I think "texas weiner" is a generic Jersey term for a hot dog with chili. Sort of like the "Italian hot dog" (with fried potatoes and sauce).

Oh, great, now I'm hungry ...

They do make a good Italian hot dog, too.

In terms of their menu, they pretty much serve everything you could imagine. And everything I've had there has been great, including the Greek salad (...it had a brick of feta on it!).
