Good combo, eh? I'm looking to get both fast: rubber pants for my nine-month-old for his swim lesson on Sunday (these NJ pool laws are tough!) and a high quality eraser that doesn't smudge (copyediting test)...any advice on where to get either or both nearby? |

Check Toys R Us or Babies R Us or similar stores for "swim diapers" (the current version of rubber pants even though the pool rules in many places seem to use the 1960s term.) I don't know if the disposable swim diapers are available in the grocery/drug stores this time of year, but that should be another option if you can find them. (By the way, these are much preferable to regular disposable diapers for swimming. The latter expand and eventually explode when soaked in the pool.) If you really need the old fashioned kind (albeit termed "plastic pants" rather than "rubber pants"), I know that I found them at Sears or possibly Toys R Us when my children were babies, but that's been a few years so I don't know if they are still available there or not. Good luck! |

high quality eraser? THere is the art store in S.O. one in Maplewood village and a great art supply place (forget the name) in Essex Green mall. Plastic pants they won't have! |

I *think* I've seen little packages of Gerber brand plastic pants in the Pathmark, hanging up in the Baby Supplies aisle. I would guess Drug Fair might have them, too. |

According to the rules, we need to have rubber pants AND a swim diaper under the bathing suit. This seems redundant, especially since I have the disposable swim didies and a bathing suit with a built-in diaper...but I'd hate to be turned away for lack of rubber/plastic pants, esp. since I am dying to get out for some mommy/baby social activity! Thank you all for your help...sounds like I should be able to find both of my requirements close by. |

My father always swore by a wooden toothpick dipped in clorox when he had to erase indible ink from a document. No smudging but if he wasn't very careful, the clorox sometimes burned a hole in the paper. |

I keep my erasers smudge free with a little emery board. Works like a charm. |

I was in Babies R Us the other day and noticed covers for training pants (for people who don't want to use disposable). Since I wasn't actually in the market, I didn't notice what they were made of or what sizes they came in, but it might be worth calling to see if they carry what you need. |
