Okay, I can put up with a lot, but this has gone far enough. In a post above, L-head wrote about a post by Themp: "Must be nerd humor." I take personal offense at that, because I distinctly recall that L-head used the term "nerd" as a personal attack on me, at this link. I am, quite frankly, offended by any attempt to dilute the effect of such a cheap insult, by labeling Themp's lame attempt at humor as being similarly a "nerd" posting. I'm serious, if some character is going to label me a "nerd", I don't want to share that invective with just anybody ... And S., sorry to disagree with you, but it's always a sad day when the constitutionally-designated judiciary declines to exercise the authority which the founders intended them to have. |

You're not sorry to disagree with me, it's a sport to you. And it's not a sad day when our constitutionally-designated judiciary decides on an issue. It's only sad (to you) when it's a decision that YOU don't agree with.

S., what kind of an insult is that? "It's a sport to you"?? Maplewood Online is a "sport" to you, since you never seem to participate if you're not mocking someone. Or, have I missed something? And since you brought it up, there are judicial decisions which I disagree with, but I respect the process which led to them. Just not in this case ... ______________________________________________________ ---> Brought to you by Nohero Engineering LLC <- Hey, it also wouldn't look good coming out of Iraq and saying that you were just looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction that weren't really there. |

Uh.. The SCOTUS is not taking this case, as I understand from todays news, because they are already handling a very high profile case of an American "terrorist" with very real similarities to the case they chose not to hear. So rathar than double duty, they will deal with the existing case now and see how it fleshes out. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" Wayne Gretzky |

Nerd is a bully word. I used to get that a lot, usually just before a wedgie. I'm like an Emo Phillips lookalike. A creature of the library and allergist's office, really. It still hurts to hear that word, but I can find solace among my ilk down at the hobby shop. But you made my rash start itching and my glasses fall off with your meanness. I like Mem's do it yourself spirit. Most conservatives like the heady wine of tax cuts, moral righteousness, and gun ownership, even if they avoid the tang of service, danger and hardship themselves. That's why her proposal that "we" start castrating political prisoners intrigues me. There is a farm impliment for that job in both pig and horse size. What say we get one, get a bucket of antiseptic, a few wet phonebooks, a cat o ninetails, and set up an interrogation center for the duration of this war? And you're not stupid at all. |

Its always dicey to read to much into a cert denial. It could mean that the court thinks the issue is not as important as others they already have on their plate because most of the people in quesiton have been deported and the critical report by the DOJ IG on their treatment may mean that better care will be taken next time. Or it may mean they think they already have a case on the docket that will resolve the question. Or something else. The court has taken fewer and fewer cases of late. Most important, the refusal to hear the case has no precidential value. |

Hey themp, You are not just a nerd, you're a weirdo as well. You seem uselessly and overly concerned about the reference to castration, but you really shouldn't worry, it would take too long to find yours. I would tell you to get over your weird self, but I really don't care! There. I can personally attack as well. |

Well, your method making fun of ME, whom you don't even know, and NOT my IDEA like you say, is not cool. You label me a conservative, a Betty Crocker, you say I keep an oven in my garage where I torture people, you mockingly call me a "real" American, you cleverly "hint" that I am more than one poster, wow, all this fun makes me giddy. But you're right. "We" are not taking you too seriously. |

I don't follow all this about multiple posters, and the betty crocker comment relates to the mundane stuff in a suburban garage. I was trying to combine unlikely elements because sometimes it's funny. But I guess I failed. I guess you're right. I'm not good at anything. I don't feel much like posting anymore. Guess I'll stick with my Battlestar Galactica trading cards from now on. |

Wow. Got me again. I feel dizzy. I feel like a cat with a balloon tied to its collar. No matter how fast I run the balloon is still there, frightening me into further flight. But this is getting a little too weird now, as a word game between strangers. Very seriously, I think this should be the end. It has become unhealthy. I really was just kidding around, but now I think we can sort of level off here. No hard feelings. No more irony. Peace. Back to reality. I'm sorry I pulled anyone's leg. From now on I'll be more high-minded in my discourse. |

True it's almost empty, but she might cut herself. Might get her started again, though. Boy that was wild, huh? Every payday? She must have a liver like a seal. Well, to each their own.
