I've noticed that many people put all their "Christmas trimmings" out on the curb with their tree - but only the tree is taken. Is there a reason the rest of the greenery remains on the curb? |

I returned home from work tonight to find my tree gone but my trimmings still there. I found this very interesting, maybe someone has an answer. Hope they get it before the snow comes on Thursday! |

Not sure about SO, but my understanding is that the trees get chipped and composted and wreaths etc. are not acceptable on account of the wire in them. |

I found it interesting that they took the tree, but not the sticks,(in Home Depot bags) sitting next to it!! Go figure!!!! |

We're still waiting for someone to come take our tree--it's been sitting in the front yard for nearly a month. At this rate, we'll be able to use it as mulch. Has the Village stopped picking up trees? (They haven't taken our next door neighbor's, either.) |

I'm guessing that a number of trees are still stuck in the ice/snow... mine is... therefore the town can't pick them up very easily. |

I'm sure that the same crews picking up Christmas trees are also responsible for keeping our roads safe during the recent inclement weather and that the trees will be picked up soon. |

It's been tough with all the snow and ice ... but we turned all the lights off a long time ago. (January 6th, actually, which is the appropriate day to finish displaying decorations from a liturgical point of view.) Hopefully we will actually get them taken down and put away soon. |

On the other hand, if you are orthodox then January 6th would have been before Christmas. |
