South Mountain Neighbors, sponsors of New Jersey's largest Lesbian and Gay Spring Ball, has moved their annual affair to Valentine's Day. Last year, they imported a circuit DJ from South Beach, who turned the place out. It won't be a smushy, gushy time where singles feel out of place. It might even be a great time to meet other singles! Gay-friendly straight people are welcome, too. Dress is cocktail chic/Black tie; whatever rocks your world. Privateline me if you would like contact/ticket info. |

Greentree is right on the money. This is a great event. Have attended a few times. With a date or single, it is a great time. It is the only time of the year I actually get to break the tux out of the closet (no pun intended). And Greentree in a sexy gown is fierce! There are LOTS of singles, so don't be afraid of going it alone. |

Just one question.... are the a considerable # of womyn there ?? The reason I ask is that many gay/lesbian events that I have been to do have many more gay men than lesbians. Thanks |

I won't lie & say it's 50/50, but we've never felt uncomfortable or overwhelmed by too many men. I'd say it's somewhere between 25% & 1/3 women. O&E - you raise a good point- if more women read this, maybe they'll come! You can also request a table for a group of friends, I think it's 8 or 10 people. Thank you, Macman! Are you sure you're not confusing me with The Spouse? Her dresses are much slinkier than mine..... |

Thanks for the info greenetree. We would love to attend, but we are going to be flying that day to see my partner's family. We are going to have "Valentine's Day" when we come back (not the same staying with the folks ;-). Oh well, maybe next year for the Spring Ball. Have a great time all. Greenetree, is it you that I will be missing in the sexy dress or the spouse (or both... yikes )? |

Hey Greentree, don't sell yourself short. It's true, your spouse cuts quite a figure. I recall a dress with a slit up to.....well I won't say more. But you look very fine as well. Lesbians in gowns and makeup, gay men in tuxedos and makeup...what more could you ask for! Seriously, it is a wonderful event. I suggest making a reservation at the hotel and staying overnight. That way you don't have to be worried about drinking and you can just crash after the event. Makes it like a little getaway for Valentine's day. |
