Forget about the ACLU’s efforts to assist in protecting Rush Limbaugh’s medical records. What I want to know is how do they pick their battles. What is their criteria? Here is a battle they might want to look in to.

Charlize Theron, a knockout normally, gives a truly knockout performance in the movie “Monster.” She plays the role of Aileen Carol Wuornos, a highway prostitute who was executed for killing seven men in the state of Florida during the 1980s. Her performance will likely win an Oscar. But she is not the beautiful woman she has always played in the past.

If the ACLU wants to remain consistent, they should step in to insist that only naturally ugly actresses get these parts.

Constitutional protection for less attractive actresses might gain support, if they also repeal the rule that attractive actresses have to date ugly guys.

Mr. DP:

When referring to the possessive, those fluent in the English language typically use the word "their." Your inability to spell reflects your inability to think clearly.

Well an ACLU attorney kept me from having a criminal record for protesting infavor }of theVietnam War. He wasn't real happy about it, but he did it. :-)

Why do full blown conservatives hate the ACLU so much? They spend a fair amount defending the right.

I remember my high school social studies teacher telling us how he dropped his membership after they defended the Nazis who wanted to march on Skokie. But that's what they do, recognizing that civil liberties don't just belong to people with popular causes.
