Help! Two boys, ages 6 and 3 and their dad need ideas about what to do to have fun this long weekend. Don't want long drives. Suggestions? |

Newark Museum (very manageable for a 3 year old too), Liberty Science Center, Big Train rehearsal, Yogi Berra Museum, Morris Museum. Get your hands on today's Ledger for the weekend events. Any hoops game at Seton Hall this weekend (women's usually)? Staten Island Children's Museum. |

I stocked some Kaleidoscope Kits in the Bead store. Well within your age group to assemble, more fun to pick out the beads to make the scope patterens and colors your boys like best. Plus if the questions come up, you can explain what an eguilateral triangle mirror is and how the mirrors make the patterns develop. Come look at them at The Beaded Path, 1877 Springfield Avenue, at Prospect. Two doors down from Net Nomads, and across the street from Primo Pizza. After making it you can pop over to Net Nomads, have a hot cocoa and log into Google and see if you got the details of an eguilateral triangle mirror correct. Later, George Berkeley Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the Titanic.

Moose, Then try the Newark Museum..they have a small planetarium and most weekends, kids projects and events. Check out their website for info. Its a 15 minute drive and the parking lot is right next to the museum. |

The Model Railroad Club in Union is also fun if they are into trains. |

JFB: Where is that?! My three-year-old is a trainiac, we spend lots of time in the Millburn Train & Hobby Shop as well as the Museum in Whippany but would love another option! |

Yes, off 22, but eastbound, behind the Home Depot. Their website is: http://www.tmrci.com/ I think Sat is the only day of the week they are open for general visitors. |

We just got back from Floods Hill. Great day to be outside, no wind, lots of sun. We were actually HOT. |

The "Children's Museum" Imagine That moved from Rt 10 to Florham Park recently. It is still clean and not too crowded, even on a weekend. Probably better for the 3 year old (which is what I have) but the 6 year old could be entertained for a bit. |
