I am doing a research paper on the impact that certain national holidays or days of infamy or calendar oddities have on people with birthdays on those dates. For instance, I am going to try to understand whether people born on Feruary 29th have a different view of he world because their birthday is orphaned. So if any of you readers on Maplewood Online were born on the following days and are interested in helping me, please send a "private line" with your name and phone number. Here are the dates I am interested in: January 1 February 29th April 4th April 19th September 11th November 22nd December 7th - but only if you were born before the attack on Pearl Harbor and were old enough to remember when it happened. Thank you in advance. |

If you are interested in expanding your list of dates, you might consider the impact of some religious holidays on world outlook: for example: Christians who were born on December 25 or Jews whose birthday sometimes falls on Yom Kippur. |

Yes thank you. April 19th is both Waco and the Oklahoma City bombing. I didn't select Christmas day for my paper because it's been recognized for so many years that I don't see the benefit to including it in my paper. I am disappointed to write that no one has sent me any information that might help me. Did I put my request in the wrong area of this message board? Should it be the the Please Help section? Where is the best place to post this type of request to get the best responses? I don'twant to put it in that Soap Box area. Can anyone offer any ideas? Thank you. |

Maybe Please Help is a better spot for your request - sometimes when I'm confronted with the extra sign-in required to get into the the Work section, I just skip it. And I've been meaning to get someone with one of those birthdays to contact you. Thanks for the reminder. |

Thank you. Do I just retype it or is there a way to just move it over? Do I have to contact the moderator to get permission? |

August 2nd is the day around here, everybody in my wifes family seems to die on that day, it's also her birthday. Most of the time it happens while we are on vacation, I no longer allow her to leave home without me on her birthday. |

I have a friend born on Sept. 11. For the obvious reason, she no longer celebrates that day as her birthday; instead, she celebrates her halfth-birthday, six months later (or earlier).

I have a friend who delivered a baby girl at 8:45 a.m. on September 11, 2001, and that child's life will surely be affected by the coincidence (although exactly how is hard to say at this point). Even the birth announcements were subdued. |

My mom was born on April 4th (MLK died) and passed away Jan.16th (day after MLK was born). Strange!

Joancrystal -- since the Jewish calendar is lunar, I believe if it were in that range, it would only fall on Yom Kippur once every 19 years. Though, if they were born on Yom Kippur according to the lunar calendar, then it would be every year. But most Jewish people, at least in this country, have the "usual" calendar in their day planners |
