I am looking to change cell phone service. I currently have Cingular. What company do people recommend? |

Verizon. I use to have AT&T I switched to Verizon about three years ago. I know that downtown Maplewood has a few dead spots, but overall it is great. They offer good discount plans it you have them for local, long distance, cell and DSL and you elect one bill for all services. Just make sure you get a tri-mode phone, some new phones are digital only and there are still a lot of analog only spots |

Verizon as well. HOWEVER... it may be my imagination, but ever since Maplewood turned down Verizon's request to build a cell tower in town, signal strength has decreased. But compared with the other providers, Verizon seems to have the best coverage. You WILL need a dual or tri-band phone though. |

Any good company will let you try their service for two weeks to see if you're satisfied. If you don't live near Maplecrest Park, I expect you'll be happy with T-Mobile. They have good deals, especially their family plan. Their coverage in downtown Maplewood has no dead spots. Tom Reingold the prissy-pants There is nothing

Avoid AT&T, downtown is a total dead zone. If you wanted to call for a ride from the station, for example, forget it. |

I just was telling a friend yesterday. I also have noticed a decline in service since we vetoed the cell tower. I bet they are getting back at us lol |

Verizon! Had AT&T many years, but service is very spotty, and terrible on the midtown direct route, route 78, among other places. Happy with everything about Verizon except their somewhat cryptic bills. Pete |
