Bill Charlap, this generation’s pre-eminent jazz pianist, has long enjoyed performing duets with many of the music’s finest soloists, from Warren Vache to Conrad Herwig among many others. On February 14th, in a match made in heaven, the legendary saxophonist David “Fathead” Newman will join Charlap for a special one-night performance. Newman mixes deep soul inflections, honed by years as featured soloist with Ray Charles, with a sophisticated urbanity culled from playing with the best musicians in Jazz. The combination of Charlap and Newman, performing great American Standards and classic Jazz tunes, should provide for a memorable evening of music!
