The hex nut on the z fitting which screws into a threaded tube that connects to cables on my traction and auger controls keeps working itself off. Twice had to drag the blower back to the garage to fix this problem. Can't figure out how to stop both the hex nut on the z fitting which screws into the cable fitting from moving. Tried wrapping with electrical tape. This helps somewhat but it still keeps moving. No fun loosing a hex nut in the snow. Any ideas?

Hi -- Yes, I found in the first 2 uses that the vibrations would shake those nuts loose! (new machine this year) Solution was to take 2 wrenches, put a drop of Loctite on the threads, then tighten hard! Last snow storm -- no problems! Pete

Pete, I will give loctite a try! Thanks for the info. Now I can stop "swearing like a sailor" when I clear my property. Barbara |

In addition to the loctite, add a 2nd nut and lock the two together. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the Titanic. |
