Who's open for an early lunch on Saturday?
Celebrated would be perfect, but I don't think they're open.
Any other suggestions? Needs to be child and vegetarian friendly, and my father-in-law is a real meat-n-potatoes kind of guy.
Thanks!

The Office in Summit or Brix next door or Mexicali Rose in Montclair. Quincey's in WO. Toro Loco. The Pub is nice for Saturday lunch.

Don't think they'd do Mexican, Chinese or Japanese (unless it was hibachi).

I'm sure the Pub is where FIL wants to go, just don't know if we have enough time for that.

Want to stay local, Maplewood, SO or Millburn.

And BTW, happy 10th anniversary.

oh, it's not yet! Just this year. Is Benihanna's open for lunch in Short Hills? I have never been to the Short Hills one but am going tonight -- I just called them but can't find their number anywhere!

Hey, big events need celebrating all year. The year my husband and I turned 30 (we're 8 mos. apart) we celebrated in some way or another from his b-day to mine. (And my tenth anniversary is next year so I'm already thinking of how we can mark the occasion, besides diamonds of course.)

Benihana has a big sign out front saying something about lunch. Benihana

If you're talking about The Gate - we had dinner there last night - waitress was friendly & EFFICIENT - we didn't wait long at all for anything! (which has been my only complaint about that dear old place)

Yup, I was talking about The Gate.
Do you know offhand what time they open for lunch?

While I like the chicken a lot, the chicken takes a while. The steak is a quick option and it is so great ... sorry Shh -- I know you're not a meat eater.

Yeah, I dunno if I could tolerate sitting across from a big guy ripping apart a steak.

We like Martini's in Millburn. Actually going there for brunch on Sunday p.m. with the in laws. They have good veggie and meat dishes.

40 Main Street.

Oooh. That's a great idea Marian, thanks.

(And they serve LIQUOR. That should make FIL happy!)

If that doesn't work out, try Charlie Browns.

Pal's Cabin is a great lunch place: best burgers, and they have good sandwiches as well as hot lunch entrees.

And the best cream of mushroom soup on the planet!

be prepared to wait, or get your name on the list, do a little shopping and get seated.

Well, this thought came to me last night—
Ruby Tuesday, on 22 in the Shopping Ctr. where Rickel's used to be. Great for the kids, decent selection for everyone, and beverages of choice for all!
There was no wait when we went (1-ish). Another nice thing was that we got seated at a large round table, so all seven of us could chat comfortably.
I'm usually not a big fan of these places, but this was a good alternative.
