Just saw on cnn.com that Bob Keeshan, aka Captain Kangaroo has died. For those of us old enough to remember, this is sad. |

I must be psychic, because just this morning my kids and I were talking about kids tv shows and I was remembering fondly Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Green Jeans and the moose and the rabbit (mr. bunny?)with the raining ping pong balls gag. I wonder if this show can be found in re-runs. |

My mother attended New Rochelle College in the late 1940's with the woman who became Mrs. Captain Kangaroo. When we watched him on TV we felt a connection to him. Ed May |

the rabbit was referred to simply as "bunnyrabbit". Never thought about it at the time, but the ping-pong ball showers were delightful, but a bit odd. ping-pong balls? Mr. Moose would set up the Captain with a joke, and the balls cascaded from the sky after the punchline. |

I loved the pingpong balls and Bunny Rabbit too. Bunny never spoke and made only the most rudimentary gestures with his little paws, but I never had any doubt what he was communicating. And how about the Magic Drawing Board?!? That just amazed me. |
