I was wondering if anyone is interested in cleaning up our computer? I am really not a computer type and My computer is freezing quite a bit, pop up ads are showing every minute. We really just use it for kids games, internet surfing and e-mail.

If your interested in helping me out please call me on my cell at 201 424 3616 and let me know how much it will cost

Thanks

A neighbor told me about this local computer fix-it guy:
-Steven Brier, -973-275-9802, (for PC).
I don't know anything about him except that he likes to talk alot, (I assume that my neighbor meant "computer-speak").

PS: DAVE: After getting my G4 MAC back up and limping with OS9 I finally decided to back up all my files on CD and erased the hard drive and
install OS X Jag. Also got a Dell, (long story). All is well,(for the next five minutes). I've always been good with my hands and it's frustrating trying to fix something that I can't see. Damn this wonderful technology.

Well, I do a lot of computer troubleshooting and fixing for people around town. I just did the same thing for another MOL'er... she had tons and tons of popups, to the point where she could hardly use the Internet anymore.

Privateline me if interested.

By the way, popup blockers will not help you after the fact. On Saturday, I spent two hours cleaning a computer that was infected badly. Among the things that this computer was infected with was one of the strains of the W32 virus. The W32 virus will not let you run some standard system cleaning tools, like msconfig and Norton Anti-Virus. You need to do things like go into the Windows registry and manually get rid of stuff.

This stuff can spread like wildfire, and can be planted into your computer with a variety of methods.

A messy job.
