Any guesses on when roads will be plowed? My guess is after the morning rush hour.

Right now, it doesn't seem like there will be enough snow tomorrow to plow.

I love the Mayor of Denver's comments in the 1950's when asked why he did not spend more money on plowing snow:

"God put it there, and God can take it away."

Then again, at a mile high desert dry altitude with plenty of sunshine, God had more assistance in Denver than s/he gets in Maplewood.

I heard it would be more like 4 inches? Where did you hear up to 14 inches?

I prefer the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather forecasts. Here's a link to Maplewood's:

how much does it cost to plow the streets after a typical (say 6") storm? Just curious.

themp, the marginal cost may be near zero. Even if not, I expect it to be less than the average cost of preparedness. Know what I mean?

A lot. There is overtime for the public works people who drive the trucks and set up the plows and a lot of the plowing is done by outside contractors. A couple of years ago there was a discussion on this on MOL.
