Remember the old days when you'd open a can of coffee and a new shiny plastic coffee scoop was awaiting you? I CAN'T find a gosh darn coffee scoop anywhere. Not Kings, not Shoprite, not Linen and Things or Bed Bath and Beyond. Not even in a can of Chock Full of Nuts. Nuts, all I want is a cheap 25 cent coffee scoop. Anyone know where do get them, easily, ot hava an extra one or 2 to spare. (BTW, the standard scoop holds 4 tsp. What a pain in the a to have to measure with a measuring spoon.) Sorry for the rant, but you can't believe how much time I have spent looking for a scoop. I found a TEA measuring spoon, I found coffee pots that recommend one SCOOP per every 2 cups, but NO scoops. HELP!! NCJ aka LibraryLady On a coffee break..or something like it.

A scoop is equivalent to a tablespoon, which is what I use. Works great. |

A few years ago, in my Christmas stocking, I received a Williams-Sonoma scoop for coffee and tea. Nice long handle, silvery metal with a small scoop on one end for tea, and a larger round tablespoon-sized scoop for coffee. The round scoop works better than an ordinary measuring spoon, and the nice long handle means that one's hands don't have to dip into the coffee package. Completely frivolous, but I use it every morning. |

Lizzie cat.. thats what I thought but I measured. A tablespoon almost, but not quite, fills up my one remaining scoop. The directions usually suggest a heaping tablesppon but the EXACT measurement (at least in my case) was a tbl and a tsp. I guess what is bothering more than anything else is what used to be simple is now complex.I guess a cheap plastic coffee scoop isn't exactly profitable for stores to carry and too expensive to be a giveaway. Try calling Sara Lee (it owns Chock Full o' Nuts) at 1-888-246-2598. They may have some of the yellowing measuring cups that they occasionally put in their coffee cans. |

It's not frivolous! If you buy ground coffee, you need a scoop. I see OXO makes one: http://www.dwellingstore.com/OXO_Good_Grips_Coffee_Scoop_Plastic_B00004OCND.html Or you could get a fancy silver one, still not expensive: http://www.onlinefavors.com/1bridalcoffeescoop.asp http://www.javamastercolumbus.com/coffee_makers/coffee_items_index.shtml http://www.showermegifts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=S&Prod uct_Code=FC-2607&Category_Code=UNIFAV

Doublea..you're brillant. Called as suggested..they have removed the scoops due to "environmental" concerns and solid waste issues. Anyway, they are sending me several out in the mail. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. As always S/MOL comes through. NCJ aka LibraryLady On a coffee break..or something like it.

lah is right. They have plenty of scoops which you can see if you search on "coffee scoop". Wow, they even have a computerized coffee scoop. Just what every household needs! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2375564186&category=46284

My set of measuring cups has a 1/8 cup scoop, just right for two cups of coffee. Making six cups? just put in three scoops. Works great. |
