I don't think that at least one box of each is too much, is it?
Can't wait to try the new "Double Dutch" cookies, and to eat some rich chewy "Samoas", and those peanutty "Do-si-dos"

Whew, I think I need to get some fresh air, I'm sweating over here.

So you're a cookie monster! Little known info about GS cookies: All cookies are not created equal. Essex Council gets their cookies from Little Brownie Bakers. Other NJ Councils get cookies from ABC Bakers.. some cookies have different names, some are completely different cookies. At any rate - Little Brownie Bakers is FAR, FAR, FAR superior to ABC. So.. let the buyer beware - thin mints are SERIOUS business!!

Growing up in a house full of boys we never really experienced GS Cookies. (My mother was the candy lady in one of the kiosks at Kresges Dept stores, so we had tons of Swedish Fish, candy watermellon slices, choc covered everthing) Now I'm the father of Maplewood Girls Scouts/Brownies/Daisies I can't believe how many people actually love this stuff. I bring them into work and people actually get mad if I run out.

My vote Thin Mints-eh but Samoas and Do-si-Dos-YUM

There's a thread on obesity in the soapbox. You might want to check that out and then substitute fruit or veggies...

One very enterprising father & daughter stopped by our office with "leftovers" after doing a booth sale - he went home with an empty car! The biggest selling point is that it's only once a year, some companies come close, but still can't match the flavor of your favorite GS cookie and although the price is heafty, the money goes to support your local troop, council & camping facilities and Eagle Lake Camp. JCC - see "only once a year note" - just factor it into the WW points and you'll be fine.

Actually, that's Eagle Island Camp, but the kudos are definitely appreciated.

Although order taking is ending today or tomorrow for this year's sale, you can expect to see Girl Scouts setting up their "booth" sales at the train stations and other high traffic locations in both towns come March. Hopefully (for the sellers as well as for the customers), the weather will be a bit more cooperative by then.

Re "once a year" - At my workplace, you can get Girl Scout cookies a lot more often than that, especially if you are willing to buy from scouts who have the "other baker" versions. Each council selects their baker (from the 2 or 3 that are licensed by the national Girl Scout organization) and also sets their sale dates and prices. There are a few flavor variations, so I haven't tried the ones they have that we have, but I often buy a few of the "other" flavors from co-workers.

Here's the Little Brownies Baker cookie page,
http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/cookies/cookies.html
I had thought about putting a page up online and selling them for my daughter, but then I read the FAQ and found that it's strongly frowned upon.

I think the government is not taking care of us properly by not banning these cookies. They're fattening.

When the time comes I will be in the market for some Girl Scout cookies. Seeing as how I don’t know any girl scouts I’m in the market for a local “Dealer”.

When are they on sale and how do I get some? The police would most likely frown at a “Girl Scouts Welcome” sign on my door.

I am sorry but you really are not supposed to solicit orders on line..this is explicitly forbidden...NO soliciting orders or selling on line. I am sure your offer is just in fun but the other kids have to comply with the rules.
Brett, I am sure you will be able to buy cookies at the train stations in either Maplewood or South Orange and at other venues. Good luck.

bookgal beat me to it ... Although girls are allowed to email family and friends about the sale, website or other online postings are strictly prohibited for both safety and fairness reasons.

On weekend mornings during March, you can usually count on seeing Girl Scouts in Maplewood Village and probably similar locations in South Orange. On weekday evenings, especially Fridays, you will likely see them at the train stations.

If you look in those places, I'm sure that you will be able to find some.

So Brett - you need to begin a new thread "Does anyone know where I can order Girl Scout Cookies?" and then put "please private line me if you have any information" in the message portion. Thereby it is the "sellee" that's soliciting, not the "seller".

hmmmm, I'm not a girl, nor am I a scout, I don't really have to worry about my safety much, and I will do what I please. And if you don't like it, you know where that place is that the sun doesn't shine....
I really could care less about anyone asking me to order cookies for them, I have other things to do, I was just being polite.
If you want to complain about this thread go right ahead and have it removed, it wouldn't be the first I've had pulled, and I never complained about it either.
I could go on and be less polite, I can be pretty good at that, but I've got somewhere to go.
Hope you enjoy....

Brett - do not buy your cookies from monster - clearly not a scout since the last post is void of any semblance of their motto, oath or creed. Wonder what monster will do when his/her young scout becomes a teen and says, who cares about rules, I will do what I please - you did!

Here's kinda a fun thread drift, sorta on the topic.

Anyone ever hear NRBQ's (Best rock and roll band on the planet today and I'm including the Stones and the Boss) song, "Girl Scout Cookies "?. Hilarious song and it rocks like nobodys business.

Another great tune:

"I don't want no spare-ribs, no pygmy in disguise. But everythings gonna be alright, with an RC Cola and a Moon Pie".

And don't forget-'Howard Johnstons got his Hojo Workin".
