How's it looking in South Orange? I'm at work in Manhattan, and it's sleeting here. Appreciate some updates on the road conditions for the journey home.

ril,
I am in Maplewood it's 1:30 and we have gotten a little sleet. The salt on the roads seems to be melting it. So far everything looks clear.

thanks, barbara,

Please keep me posted--I'm hoping to stay here as late as possible in anticipation of enforced leisure tomorrow.

There's a hawk circling above Flood's Hill, but not much else.

SoOrLady,
For me the best snow days were when I was a kid. Nothing but sheer joy. Making and throwing snow balls, building snow men and sledding. Staying outside until your parents yelled from the front door "I'm telling you for the last time that you have to come into the house." Reluctantly going inside frozen stiff and having mom help strip off the snow soaked clothes. Just as good as Halloween!

thanks, all, for the reports. I got back to SO just as the sleet/snow really started, around 6:30.
And it looks like a half-day of leisure; think I'll shovel out and attempt the commute a bit later. Darn.
