SOMBI FEBRUARY EVENT Thursday, February 19, 2004 Maplewood Memorial Library 51 Baker Street, Maplewood, NJ Donation: $5 per person 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM SPEAKER: Francine L. Huff, Wall Street Journal News Editor, and the author of "The 25-Day Financial Makeover: A Practical Guide for Women." Francine L. Huff has been the Wall Street Journal's Spot News bureau chief and contributed to the Journal's Pulitzer Prize winning team coverage of September 11, 2001. She is a gifted speaker, who has served as a panelist for the New York Association of Black Journalists and Newswomen's Club of New York, and who has spoken widely on finances, careers, and journalism. She and her husband, Gregory Huff, co-founded the Fellowship of Christian Artists and Writers of New Jersey. Her new book entitled "The 25-Day Financial Makeover" is a practical guide that helps women get serious about their financial situation in less than one month. A makeover can make most women look and feel pretty. The salon visit is expensive, but being pampered can make even the most stressed-out woman feel like a princess for a day. Francine introduces a new kind of makeover-one that will not only make women feel good, but will prepare the way for a beautiful financial future. "The 25-Day Financial Makeover" avoids difficult financial jargon while providing useful advice on paying down debt, saving money for retirement, cutting expenses, shopping smarter, and more. Her 25-day plan, implemented in less than one month's time, is a quick and practical way to rejuvenate a woman's finances like a good makeover can revitalize her look. According to Francine, "with more financial independence and control over their money than ever before, women can find themselves stumbling into debt, and other financial difficulties." Hence the importance of her topic: TOPIC: "Personal Finance Strategies for Small Business Owners - issues that small businesswomen may overlook" Francine will touch on savings, retirement planning, insurance, credit, debt, as well as the art of setting clear goals for personal life and business life. In her own words, "Sometimes business owners may become so focused on financing their business and getting clients that they let their own personal financial planning lapse. Having a stable financial picture at home can only enhance the financial affairs of a business." NOTE: After her presentation, Francine will have copies of her book available, for sale, and will happily autograph your book for you!
