I'd like to find a voice teacher in SO/M for my 15 year old daughter. This is slightly ironic, because my wife is a voice teacher, but it would be best for it to be an out of family experience.

Thanks.

Ha.. I understand completely. I teach drums and percussion to students from Millburn and Maplewood, but I would never attempt to teach my own son (who is quite a good drummer and percussionist). The same way that surgeons never operate on their own family members.....

Billy Park. You can get his number through Youth Theatre Classes of ArtsMaplewood, Tierney Fitzmartin.

Billy has starred on Broadway, has a golden voice and teaches kids.

What type of music is she interested in? (pop, Broadway, classical, etc.?)

I teach stricktly legit (mostly classical, some Broadway. no belting - nothing wrong with it, I just don't feel qualified to teach proper belt technique) singing; I do not play the piano (not well anyway :-) , so I would not be good for someone looking primarily for a coach. (My students are more than welcome and sometimes encouraged to bring their own pianist or use one that I can provide if they are preparing for a performance or recital.) I have not taken many high school students before, but do love to work with teens if they are serious. Let me know what she's looking for and if I'm not the right person, I may know someone who would work for her. You can also get names of teachers from NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing); they have a webite, I'm sure, with the phone number.

p.s. What does your wife teach? Love to connect with other singers in the area sometime!

I think they have a voice teacher at Front-n-Center in Millburn.
