Sometimes when driving past the Middle School at night on Burnet St. there is a dirty, dark tan colored (I think) little car pulled over, still running, with the driver sitting and staring straight ahead, meanwhile, nothing is going on at the school and it is deserted. It gave me the creeps last time so I slowed down to look at him but he peeled away before I could get his plate number. I hope I am not getting paranoid, but I will keep an eye out.

Mem,

What time do you usually see this guy? I have a commuter parking permit and usually park on Maple Ave. near Burnet across from the Middle School. Haven't noticed him myself, but I will keep an eye out.

The next time anyone see's a dirty, dark tan colored little car pulled over, still running, with the driver sitting and staring straight ahead, I suggest you DON'T slow down, and definitely don't stop.

Call the police and have them check it out... 762-3400

If you see this guy call the cops who knows what he is up to. Today everyone has cell phones call so they can check him out.

When I first moved to my neighborhood, there was a man who used to park and watch the kids go into the Middle School in the mornings, I used to see him all the time on my way to the train, and it disturbed the people here that have kids. I think someone finally did call the cops and he hasn't been around since. Because of that, I worry that this is the same guy in a different car. Really, when it comes to this type of situation with children, you can't be too careful, whatever this guy is up to.

Perhps this guy is just waiting for his car to warm up before driving home? While I realize that there are a lot of strange people in the world and that caution is key, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. If his behavior is truly unnerving, then indeed, have the police check it out.

Or just walk up, knock on the window and ask if everything is Okay. There are tons of reasons that this person is stopped there, maybe he is waiting to give someone a ride, perhaps someone that works in the school like a janitor. You can mention that you have seen him there before, that way if indeed he is up to no good, he knows that someone is watching.

It never hurts to alert the police to suspicious activity.

Don't walk up to the window and ask the guy if everything is ok you never know if it's a set up or something. Just do the right thing when you see something suspicious just call 973-762-3400 and they will send someone. Always good to be safe then sorry. You never know what this wacko is up to especially if he is near a school with kids. Something doesn't look right.
