The morning of the snow, there was what sounded like an air raid siren at 7am that lasted for at least a minute. Anyone know what that was for? Was that to wake up all of the snow plowing guys or should we all have turned off our lights and headed to the cellar? Some towns use it to signal noon on Saturdays. Perhaps it was to wake up the homeowners to notify them that it was time to shovel their sidewalks?

It was signifying the school closings. It's the sound all kids live for each winter. |
